Willow pattern hunt

Elza is in the process of making a beautiful mosaic cross filled with bits of willow-pattern china and other blue patterned crockery which is readily available in bite-sized pieces all over the mountains in town. To that end, she asked us to accompany her on a scavenger hunt to find more pieces. The boys were able hunters and together they found a huge bagful of it. We had gotten up on the mountain the easy way, but coming down we took the shorter, although more hazardous, shortcut across the schoolroom roof and down a very rickety ladder. We thought ourselves very brave!

That Elza! She is something! I hope you will photograph the cross when she is finished.
