Ladder Hill Complex

We’re on a ‘catch-up’ week this week – unscheduled work just to make up for a few lost days in spelling and Maths, primarily, and I’m throwing in an extra read-aloud to keep it fun. I found Caleb jamming along with Nick after school…loved their identical poses! Nick had to be at the office of the Public Solicitor at 2 pm, both to get something signed on my application form and to discuss the Rockfall Case. The meeting was mercifully quick as the boys were waiting in the car, reading. We left them there a while longer to explore the Ladder Hill Complex. I had no idea that such a thing existed, but this whole complex was originally built as housing for the married soldiers. It must have been quite something in its day. We felt rather like we were in a fishing village in Cornwall, or somewhere in the Mediterranean!
