Another bank holiday today…and we did bank-holiday school to go with it, meaning that we skipped all the yucky bits (ie the maths and writing) and just did the read-alouds which only took about an hour. The boys were not sad. In the afternoon we had a fish BBQ at Tammy which was really great – excellent food and company! I took a walk with Tammy’s mom and two aunts after lunch; the boys and Tammy’s dad came too (Nick stayed back with his sore legs and chatted with Tammy and Gavin).
The male folk went ahead and collected a huge pile of pinecones, to which we added extra fir and dry branches, so as to be used in the wood-burning geyser of Tammy’s gran – what a very quaint idea, collecting fuel for a boiler!
When we came home late afternoon, the sun was spilling through several tears in the cloud, landing in pools in the sea. Very beautiful.

That sea photo is spectacular. It reminds me of a moon lit night when we stayed in Scotburgh, on our way home from bible study and the reflextion on the sea was so stunning. What a wonderful creator!!!
Ah - the view I miss so much! Thank you for capturing it!
