There was no way Nick would have been able to preach today; I was glad that the lay preachers could step in at short notice. He is coughing a lot and feels generally sluggish. Poor man. I was also glad to have him at home today – made for a different Sunday! We had a lunch guest who Nick and the boys went to collect from Bluehill; I made a good old South African bobotie (minced meat with raisins, fruit and nuts) which I haven’t made in years. The boys picked their way through it with very long teeth indeed. Donald stayed for the afternoon and came with us to church, where Teddy was preaching.
