St Pauls' revisited

We all were in need of a bit of out-of-house time this afternoon; the weather was grotty and I particularly wanted to get out and practice photography. We first of all went to visit Audrey Joshua, one of our elderly Baptist ladies who lives alone since her husband passed away two or three years ago (Nick buried him). She is as deaf as a post, so anything that needed to be communicated from our side had to be written down. No matter though, as the important part for her was just having a visitor (or four, in our case). Audrey lives just about as far away from us as anyone can be, on the south side of the island about half an hour’s drive away. The drive took us into a completely different weather pattern – such a pleasure to defrost my toes in the sunny clime. On the way home we stopped in at the St Martin’s Anglican Church – I had never seen it before. It’s a tiny little thing and although it looked clean on the outside, it had a rundown appearance. Thus I was surprised to see how well maintained it was inside. It would make a lovely little wedding chapel! We drove on past this curious feature called “The Sentinel” for obvious reasons, and then landed at St Paul’s again.
