Easter eggs, bunnies, hens...what's the point again?

It’s been rainy and chilly most of the day; yesterday it blew gales, very unusual for Piccolo (as we’ve experienced it, although the Longwood trees bear evidence of many years of strong wind!). This morning we got through what we wanted to achieve today in school before going out to the Longwood Clinic for the boys’ inoculations. We have been trying to get them up to date for the past few months now, but the past few times I’ve been to the clinic they haven’t had the right stuff there, or were waiting for it to come on the ship. Today the nurses still didn’t have them, but she will arrange to bring the medicines out from town next Wednesday. The boys have been bracing themselves for the injection and it keeps being delayed. Anyway, they were both weighed and measured, and that was that. Next stop was town where I just had a few things to do, and we happened to be in the right place to see the Harford Primary School’s Easter parade in town. Harford is the school here in Longwood which Tom and Sappho attend. We saw Tom in the parade, walking with Claire and Milly. All the kids were dressed up in something Easter-themed. Strangely, I saw no kids dressed up as Jesus, Roman Centurions, disciples, Herod…very strange. It’s the sad fact that precious few people on the island have interest in the whole point of the Easter celebrations, much less to teach it to their children. We were home from town by 1 pm, had a late lunch, then the boys watched a DVD while I finished off March’s PotD (finally!). It’s already the 9th of the month and I’ve only now finished it. Before I know it the next one will be upon me. Nick informed me when I got home that the other two bigger kitties found homes today – two ladies came around while I was out to adopt them. We are delighted that they are being taken, as we would have to seriously consider getting them put down otherwise. The two younger ones are not ready to leave their mom yet. We are still formula-feeding little Charlotte who is a treasure. Her sister is about twice her size, but still quite small. Both are very friendly and responsive cats.
