Licensed to Spur

Nick and I were relieved and thankful to be in possession of our renewed South African drivers’ licenses which we applied for shortly after arriving here. We’re not sure exactly whether these will be useful in NZ but at least for now we are valid in SA until 2015. I joined my parents and the boys at Northgate for their monthly grocery shopping after the licensing matter, while Nick spent a very quiet morning at home. Lunch was enjoyed at Tim and Michelle Cantrell’s place with their five children. The boys were absorbed into the household, leaving us adults to have some good fellowship. Tim is the pastor of Antioch Bible Church. It’s always a blessing to connect with fellow pastors and their wives! We were unaware of the lateness of the hour and thus were delayed in getting to our next appointment which was supper with Tony and Sue at Spur. Very much enjoyed our meal with them – buffalo wings, quesadillas, burgers, chips etc were the flavour of the evening. By about 8.30 pm we were all yawning and called it a night. That would have been our last dinner with them except that it doesn’t seem that we are leaving on Thursday! Our passports are still sadly lacking an NZ visa stamp although we anticipate the finalizing of them any day now. We wait in hope and in the confidence that our omnipotent and omniscient God has a plan in our possible delay.
