To Monte and back again

Decided that today was the day for the Monte Casino Bird Show. After some near misses with meeting up with my parents and the boys at Fourways Mall, we hightailed it to Monte just in time to book tickets and buy popcorn. The show was lovely, with demonstrations from an owl, waddling pelican, blue crane, cape vulture, black crow, hawk, toucan and several others. After the show the boys were allowed to pet a huge albino-something snake – I forgot to take in the details of names of animals. Then we wandered around the expansive bird gardens to get a close look at these beautiful creatures. What variety God has given us to enjoy. Spent the afternoon at Aunty Doreen for tea where we were treated to her freshly baked crispy cheese scones. The boys had a weekend arrangement with Grandad and Granda Sue, so we dropped them off there around 5 pm. Ethan and Jack were already there – my hat off to Tony and Sue for hosting four rowdy boys for the whole weekend! We’ll collect them on Sunday morning. Nick and I were back at Monte Casino in the evening for supper with Patric and Catherine, old friends from CPBC. Had an excellent dinner at the Meat Co (close your eyes, Lara), followed by dessert at Milky Lane. Once again we had reason to thank the Lord for wonderful Christian fellowship.
