Ring ring

Nick had sermon prep to do in the morning so the boys and I went with my parents to Northgate again. The boys take every opportunity to go up and down (and up and down and up and down) the escalators...I photographed them enjoying the novelty on the point-and-shoot I had in my handbag until a security guard told me that cameras are prohibited in the shopping centre! Had our tenzees at Wimpy and then were home for lunch. Aaron requested a grape sandwich. A what? Grapes cut in half on bread, please. Strange boy. I enjoyed my dad’s soup – we checked the date and it was this actual batch! I nosed about in my mom’s wardrobe and found this beautiful and rather ancient shawl which is, I think, mohair. Nick had connected with an old friend while we were out who called in for a while at the house here, and then I helped Caleb construct a science lab thing which used an electromagnet to ring a bell, a Christmas present from Grandad. Sadly, the thing didn’t work when I had finished but an hour or two later Caleb had another fiddle with it and his little engineer brain figured out where I had gone wrong, and got it ringing like a telephone. Pretty awesome! This stuff is right up his alley. Nick and I popped out to Monte Casino after supper (it’s great having built-in babysitters!) and walked around the shops.
