During school Caleb had time to write a letter for Nick, in his beautiful cursive script. Since he has now finished the transitory lessons where each letter is learned, he is enjoying it far more and starting to use it as his regular hand writing during spelling lessons etc. Aaron wasted oodles of time trying to get some gram/cm cubes to stick together for his subtraction…would have been far easier to just group them in little piles. Finished school at about 11.30, giving us plenty of time to get to Sally’s before the lunch rush. It’s been a beautiful day, more so in town, so it was wonderful to be outside in the sun. I treated the boys to a slush puppy. We had a few shopping items to do, and I let the boys browse the toys in Queen Mary’s…usually not too much of a danger as there is not too much of a selection. It’s going to fun letting them loose in a major toy-shop one day! I spoke to Nick this morning and there is some very good news regarding what happens after he leaves – one of his goals in going to Ascension was to try establish some sort of home group that would continue to meet. Well, he took an assembly at the local school, and one of the ex-pat teachers approached him out of the blue and asked if they couldn’t perhaps try to start up a home group. What an answer to prayer! Nick has a series of about 100 15-minute sermons on CD which can be used as the teaching – all that was really needed was a keen facilitator and host. This is certainly very encouraging.
