Nick and I went out early for our prayer walk, and coming home we were hailed by fellow walkers Jackie Leo and Darren Duncan, who had left Jamestown at 6.30 and had walked as far as Longwood by 8.30 – a sponsored walk in aid of our church’s restoration fund! They had decided last Friday night during the gospel sing to do a walk to raise funds, and had, over the course of the week, had t-shirts printed, mapped their island-wide route and raised sponsorships. They walked roughly 60 kms and finished at 5.30 in the afternoon. We don’t know yet how much was raised, but will post an update on the church’s blog as soon as we have the figures.
The rest of the day unfolded in a Saturdaily way. I sold jewellery during GNC but it was a slow morning, and then we all went home for lunch. In the afternoon Pam came here – not for our usual scrapping, but rather to practice a song item for church (and chat, chat, eat chocolate, chat, eat more chocolate). Nick went to Tammy for a band practice.
