We hadn't known it was going to be a social Sunday today but after morning church the weather was so great it just needed to be celebrated with something...I took ingredients to make chicken-a-la-king to the Bothas and we combined with their BBQ.
Sssmokin'!
The boys, of course, read while they waited...
At last, a good photo of Andreas' lovely mum, Betta.
Shot home for a while before afternoon church for Nick to do prep although it was a very short message for our Carols service. Great singing of about 11 hymns and carols. It was STILL a beautiful day at 5.30 so off to the beach we went, joined by the Gregorys, Camerons and most of the Phillipses. Surprised to see a white horse enjoying a stroll and a splash in the waves!
I call this one, "two men looking a bit overgrown in a tiny boat":
Erin-Marie and Caleb Cameron braved these two inflatable watertight spheres - I reckon our Caleb and Aaron will have a go sometime during the holidays!

Bah-ba-queue to wedding to concert
Had a happy and eventful day today! First up, after some morning shopping and cleaning, was a staff BBQ at the Goulet's house on Jellicoe Road (I mention the street name because as far as staff go, it's THE place to be...the Phillipses and one of our relieving teachers also live on this street). Had a jolly good time - played badminton on the back lawn, visited Bubba the Pig and Chloe the Sheep in the paddock, and ate great food.
Mr Phillips delivered a farewell speech to Mr Frank whose contract with us ends on Monday on the last day of term. Mr Frank's singing down the corridors and general cheeriness will be missed around the school!
Left the boys at the Goulets and hurried off to our next event - a wedding! Nick was involved in the ceremony of Rachael Moore and Jone Vuetaki...a really special day for them and it was a lovely wedding.
There followed a post-ceremony afternoon tea with superb nibblies...
And later we met back at the Red Cross hall in town for the main reception. Nick wowed everyone with his antics...he's not usually the life of the party, but today seemed to be in his element entertaining our table companions...
...who were Victoria,
...Peter and Faye Adolph, and their three lovely daughters,
...Cara,
...Tessa,
...and Rebecca, who has just left TCS as a Year 8 and next year embarks on her high school adventures.
Left the wedding shortly after the cutting of the cake to catch a few acts at Christmas at the Bay, at Caroline Bay's soundshell. Didn't stay long but enjoyed a couple of good items.
Good night!

TCS production and prize-giving
The teachers and pupils have been working hard in preparation for this evening's production and prize-giving. Each class did their own section of a greater play and it was all very good and entertaining. Aaron was in a song-and-dance item and seemed a little stage-shy, despite his antics and wide personality one-on-one! Caleb was a rooster in his class play with several spoken lines and pulled it off superbly.
Here we go - Aaron, third from left.
Caleb's turn - far left.
Following the production came the awarding of certificates and cups. I am very pleased to say that Aaron was awarded the "Christian Character" certificate in his class, and his teacher says he lives it, apart from just knowing the right answers :)
Caleb was also a certificate recipient, his being for diligence. Well done boys, you have done your parents proud!

It's been reported...
...that the boys have done well at school this year. Their bi-annual reports came home today and as usual we ceremonised the readings of the reports. Caleb's academic results were especially pleasing, achieving above the national standard in all subjects. Aaron's was very satisfactory too and we are pleased with their progress. The Warehouse reward shopping had to be deferred as Nick had to prepare for bible study, but it will be soon.
And, on this special 12/12/12 day, Danielle turned 40! I was glad to get an hour off in the middle of a very busy work day to celebrate with a lovely group of ladies at Arthur Street Cafe. Happy birthday D and many, many more!
